Elsie’s career began in York, where she played residencies at venues and regularly busked in the streets. Now based in London, she is on the UK blues scene, playing regularly at ‘Ain't Nothin' as well as venues all over the country.
She is praised for her authentic, yet unique take on early blues and jazz, drawing influence from legendary female blues artists such as Memphis Minnie and Bessie Smith.
She has her women mentors who she notes have often gone unrecognised. She’s making her own way. Good luck, Elsie.
