Off West End

Off West End!

It was Paris 1916 and Claude Monet was struggling to complete the commission: The Water Lilies. A creative block results in Monet retreating into memory, revisiting his early artist days, his passionate relationship with his muse, and wife Camille Doncieux, and his friendships with Renoir and Bazille.

The production was inspired by letters and diaries from Monet and his peers works hard to immerse the audience in the cafés, studios, and salons of Belle Époque Paris.

In this small intimate Charing Cross Theatre with the rumbling of trains audible but not disturbing and adding to the evocative nature of the production ‘A Mirrored Monet’ works to hit the big time after premiering in 2023 at the Edinburgh Festival.
