The Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe is as a vast collection of artefacts, art, paintings, furniture and puppets dating from ancient Egypt, to Sessamstrasse celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Yes there were the full array of Sesame Street puppets used in the German production. Whilst not wishing to undervalue the Egyptian, Greek, Roman antiquities nor the wonderful Art Deco display or the East Asian and Islamic cultural areas, Sesame Street out shone and outsmarted the rest for those under 5 years or over 50 years for sheer joy, amusement and education.
The Museum also had a small but compelling display of public art related to the protests following the Arab Spring including in Tunisia, Egypt and Syria and later in Lebanon and Iraq.
