Reflections: Konsthall Malmo

Ingela Ihrman – Frutti di Mare

‘Frutti di Mare’ by artist Ingela Ihrman occupies the entire space of the Malmo Konsthall. It is a reflection on not being human and uses sculpture, performance, video and text to ‘explore identity and belonging by looking at different life forms and how we relate to one another’.

It is big bold, spacious but lacks the energy and context she would have provided at the opening of the exhibition when she would have inhabited  the ‘costumes’ she has created and explored the non human. It is therefore a static display of life forms and not ‘playful’ nor ‘interactive’, a description she applies to her art performances but not evident in the exhibition.
